WordPress maintenance message comes up when you do wordpress or wordpress plugin updates. It normally goes away after update is complete but there is a chance the update can get stuck. If it is stuck at ‘Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.‘ you need to do the following to fix it.
What You’ll Need
You would need an ftp application. Ftp is used to manage files on you wordpress site. If you don’t have one then you can download filezilla ftp client at filezilla-project.org.
You would have to get the ftp logins your site. There are 3 parts to the logins. Host(normally the address like mydomain.com but can be ip address like 10.11.12.13 as well), user id and password.
Solution to fix “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance” Problem
Start up your ftp application and put the ftp login details. Once your connected you will see either your wordpress site files or you will see public_html. If wordpress files start with wp like wp-admin, wp-content. Go inside public_html if you see no wordpress files. Then you you need to delete .maintenance file. Once done the site will be back to normal.
